I thought this might be something to experiment with once in a while, especially since Winston Churchill is, without a doubt, my favorite leader and often, my work ethic is inspired by his philosophies.

So today is, “A pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty” – definitely my favorite quote by Churchill.  Why?

First of all, there’s no such thing as failure.  Most often, experiences are cyclical and serve as learning opportunities perhaps especially when things don’t go the way they are planned.  Going through life with an attitude of giving up every time the “chips are down” is no way to live.  We’re not defined by how many times we get knocked down.  Our legacies are defined by how many times we get back up and push on.  But we can only do that through looking at experiences as a “glass half full or as optimists looking for opportunity.

When you are driving in your car and you hit some road blocks or construction, it allows you or your GPS to learn a new (and perhaps more convenient) way to your destination.  That wouldn’t have happened if you continued on the way you are used to.

I set the bar VERY high for my PR campaigns.  When they don’t meet my expectations, I see this as an opportunity to learn; to better organize, to learn how to create better press releases, better pitches, use optimal times and most importantly how to best nurture my relations with my media outlets and DJs whom I am eternally grateful for.

So…  just something to think about.  Life doesn’t always suck.  But it does always offer opportunities to learn.
